Toys R Us is opening in America’s biggest mall

Many of us who grew up with Toys R Us were sad to see it go out of business in 2018. Now, things are looking up for the iconic toy retailer. It’s opening up at the Mall of America – the biggest mall in the US – just before Thanksgiving. The company says the 11,000 square foot store will sell toys and videogames, with a cafe and ice cream parlor to come in 2024.

Toys R Us was bought by brand acquisition and management company WHP Global in 2021, which is aiming to reintroduce the brand to millennial and gen Z shoppers. The Bloomington, Minnesota store is the second major location the company has opened. It already has a flagship at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey, as well as 452 mini shops in Macy’s stores across the US.

Babies R Us has also returned, opening a flagship store at the American Dream Mall last summer.
