ESPN, Warner Bros Discovery, Fox to launch sports streaming service

Disney-owned ESPN is teaming up with Warner Bros Discovery and Fox to launch a new sports streaming service. The offering, is a joint venture split between the three parties, will be available via a new app.

The platform will combine the slates of each network as well as content from all major professional sports leagues and college sports. Yahoo Finance reports Disney has held talks with leagues including the NFL, NBA, and MLB about strategic partnerships.

But analysts have expressed concern about whether consumers will be willing to pay for the additional service rather than watching sports as part of a cable bundle. Disney hasn’t disclosed any pricing details, though analysts have estimated it would need to cost at least $30 a month to break even.
