Apple and Google are in talks ($) to bring the search giant’s generative AI technology to the iPhone, in a deal that would rock the industry. Bloomberg reports the two companies are actively negotiating an agreement to integrate Google Gemini into the next version of iOS.

For Apple, the deal would mean outsourcing the heavy lifting of generative AI, such as creating images and writing essays based on simple prompts. But it may also signal that Apple isn’t as far along with its AI efforts as some might have hoped.
